Don't worry! I haven't fallen off the face of the earth!

Yes I am still alive everyone. Every time I think about doing a new post I say to my self "Self, you have so much to blog about you don't have time to do it today." Well I guess I have had more time in my days lately because I have been getting up earlier in the mornings. Who'd have ever thought. Well a ton has happened since we last spoke. Lily turned one year and she had a great birthday! She was so much fun and loved every present. Thanks Fam for making it so fun for her!

She really loves to entertain. She was playing the piano that my Grandpa gave me. That is him in the picture. I'm not sure he liked the pounding of the keys.

She loved eating her own cake. She didn't want to ruin it at first but after she warmed up she dove right in.
So a ton has happened since I last wrote anything. We put our house up for sale the middle of May and we sold it and closed the deal the first part of July and were out July 7th. I know! Really fast. I really struggled with it at first but I knew it was right because who sells their house in a month.

I really miss our house but I know that it is for the better. Pat gets to apply for Dental School in the spring now so hopefully we will know where we will be going by December 2010. Lily just keeps growing bigger everyday. She truly is the light in my life. I have so much fun with her and she always makes me so happy. Even today she wasn't feeling well and was still in the best mood. She turns 15 months on Thursday and I swear she is going on 3 years old.

Well tomorrow is our 4th year wedding anniversary. I can't believe it has been four years. They have been great and I couldn't have picked a better companion to go through life with. We have a ton of fun together and Patrick always makes me happy! Love you Babe! (He would be so embarrassed!

Child Labor?

So, it's not child labor if they want to help you right? With Lily's new way of transportation(crawling), she loves to follow me around the house and do whatever I am doing. Unloading and loading the dishwasher is her favorite. When she hears me open it she comes sprint crawling into the kitchen. Her job is to unload the silverware. She hasn't quite grasped the concept of putting it into the drawer but she is excellent at putting it on the floor.

The next thing she likes to do is pull everything out of the bottom of the pantry. Then she will grab the broom and try to pull out all the little bristles. It is so cute. I know...I say that now but it won't be cute in a few months. By the look on her face, you can tell that she is very proud of herself!

I think that she has figured out that she can knock things off the shelf with the broom. She is concentrating really hard to get the little jello boxes knocked down so she can play with them.
r>She also likes to turn the little button knob thing on my vacum that changes the height settings. And yes it scares me when I turn it on cause she usally likes to set it on the lowest one so it sounds like it is sucking my carpet all the way up!(Ya, I know my Vacuum looks like it belongs back in the 1970's, but it works like a champ!)

And the Last chore that I give Lily to do is wash my back window. It doesn't take her very long cause I put Hank outside and he does the outside for her!

Oh, and just a disclaimer. My spell check thinks I am speaking a different language or something so all my words were spelled wrong. Sorry if they really are!:)

Watch out world, here comes Lily!!!

Oh my goodness! Lily is very, very mobile now and she has learned to pull herself up onto everything. She learned all of this within this last week. So on top of crawling really fast, she now is trying to walk! She loves to stand by the couch or the table and then scream at herself so that we all know that she is standing. It is hilarious! She is learning to climb the stairs too! I can't believe that she will almost be 8 months old. Wow, time sure does fly when you are having fun!
So my sister in laws sister, had a baby this last week so I thought I would make her a cake cause I saw this really cute idea online. It doesn't really look like the one that I saw but I think that it gets the point across. It was totally fun to decorate. Not much fun to build the cake but I will have to work on that. They named him Keagan, thus the "K" on top and if you look closely it does say baby on the blocks. If anyone needs a cake for anything just let me know because it is a blast! I want to try to re-create my wedding cake to see how much it really was worth. I will let you know how it goes.

If I'd a known you were comin I'd a baked a cake!

Well, ever since I saw this way cute baking show on the food network I've been wanting to bake. So I started with baking cookies and I really got such a satisfied feeling, that I tried to find different recipes and different kinds of cookies. I found this one recipe that is so good. My husband thinks that the cookies taste like the ones from subway and that's a compliment because the only reason he eats at subway is because of the cookies. Heck with the fact that they are a healthy place to eat.

Well this last time I watched this show they made cakes! They were so cute and of course they made it look so easy, so I wanted to try it. Well after different recipes of fondant and different types of cake, I finally made my first decorated cake. It's not as easy as the pros make it look but it sure was fun!
